Technique

Botanical printing on textiles using the ecoprint technique is a process that fascinates me. I love how it combines art, nature, and my own creativity. I use natural elements such as leaves, flowers, branches, and barks to transfer their pigments and shapes onto natural linen and organic cotton textiles, creating unique and lively designs.

When I begin the process, I carefully select the plants I will use. I look for fresh leaves and flowers, with vibrant colors and interesting shapes. I enjoy choosing plants that contain natural dyes, especially those with high concentrations of tannins.

Once I have selected the plants, I arrange them on the linen or organic cotton fabric, creating different patterns and compositions. Then, I wrap the fabric with the plants into a tight bundle and tie it firmly to keep everything in place. I immerse the bundle in hot water or steam it for a specific period of time. This process helps release the natural pigments from the plants and allows them to adhere to the fabric.

During the cooking process, a magical chemical reaction occurs between the plants and the fibers of the fabric. The natural dyes are transferred, leaving colorful and detailed impressions. The tannins and other compounds from the plants bond with the fibers, creating beautiful patterns and textures that reflect the shape and structure of the plants I have used.

Once the cooking process is complete, I carefully untie the bundle and remove the plants, revealing the wonderful designs printed on the natural linen and organic cotton textiles. The result is a unique piece of textile art that captures the beauty and delicacy of nature in a completely natural and environmentally respectful way.

For me, botanical printing using the ecoprint technique is not just a creative process but a special connection with nature. Every design I create is unique and surprising because each plant leaves its mark on the linen and organic cotton textiles, telling its own story. I love that this technique is sustainable, without the need for chemicals or artificial dyes.

Each garment or piece of fabric I create becomes a statement of style and a tribute to the beauty of our natural surroundings. It is a process that allows me to appreciate and carry with me the intricate perfection of nature, in an artistic and personal way. It fills me with joy to combine my love for nature, my creativity, and my passion for fashion in every design I make using natural linen and organic cotton textiles.
